How do I block porn on my iPhone?

Open Settings and tap Screen Time. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn them on. Then tap App Store, Media, Web, & Games, tap Web Content and choose Limit Adult Websites. Protect these settings with a Screen Time passcode that someone you trust chooses for you.

A filter gives you room to choose.

When temptation hits late at night, a single tap can feel very close. A filter puts a step between that moment and something you would regret. It cannot change your heart, and it does not replace your walk with God. It gives you a little time to remember who you are in Christ and to choose what comes next.

Your iPhone already includes a filter for adult websites. It lives in Screen Time, the iPhone feature that manages what you can open on your phone. Setting it up only takes a few minutes.

Turn on the adult website filter in Screen Time.

These steps follow the menu names Apple uses in iOS 18 and iOS 26.

  1. Open the Settings app and tap Screen Time.
  2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions, then turn on Content & Privacy Restrictions.
  3. Tap App Store, Media, Web, & Games, then tap Web Content.
  4. Choose Limit Adult Websites.

According to Apple, iOS then filters adult content in Safari and in other apps on your iPhone. If a site still gets through, tap Add Website below Never Allow and type its address.

Apple reorganized some Screen Time menus in iOS 27. If you don’t see these exact names, look for the website filtering option inside Screen Time and choose Limit Adult Websites.

Let someone you trust keep the passcode.

A filter helps most when you can’t remove it in a weak moment. Screen Time lets you lock its settings with a passcode. Ask someone you trust to type a code that you don’t know. That person could be a friend from church, a mentor or your spouse.

You don’t need to tell your whole story to ask for this. You can simply say that you want to protect your attention and that you would value their help. Our guide to talking with someone you trust can help you find the words.

Letting someone else hold the code takes a little humility. You accept that you will sometimes need to ask. That request can become a moment of prayer together instead of a source of shame.

Be honest about what a filter can’t do.

Every filter has limits. Knowing them keeps you from placing all your hope in a setting.

  • Apple’s filter can miss some sites. You can add them yourself under Never Allow.
  • Images can still reach you through social media apps. You might move those apps off your Home Screen or spend less time in them.
  • Anyone who knows the passcode can change the settings.

These limits don’t make the filter useless. They remind you that protection is one part of a bigger journey. The deeper change happens as you bring your desires to God and let other people walk with you. The article on quitting porn as a Christian explores the habits that go along with it.

Agnus can turn on the filter and keep it in place.

If you would rather not dig through the menus, Agnus turns on the same Screen Time filter from its Protection screen. You give iOS permission once. Then you hold the button for three seconds to switch the protection on.

After that, the switch disappears behind a padlock. You can’t turn the filter off with a single tap in a difficult moment. If you really need it, you can take a one-hour break once every seven days. When the hour ends, the filter comes back by itself.

Agnus is open about one limit. If you delete the app, iOS removes the filter that Agnus set up. Apple designed it that way, and Agnus respects that choice. You can keep Apple’s own filter turned on as a second layer.

Protection sits alongside the rest of the app. Agnus also gives you a daily verse, a daily check-in and a guided breathing pause for the moments when an urge arrives. Our guide on what to do when temptation hits describes that pause in detail.

Bring this decision to God.

Setting up a filter is a practical act of faith. Paul encourages Timothy to run from what harms him and to run toward what is good.

Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

2 Timothy 2:22, World English Bible

This verse pairs fleeing with pursuing. A filter helps you flee. Prayer, Scripture and friendship help you pursue. You don’t have to do either one alone, because Paul pictures you among others who call on the Lord.

We answer your questions.

Does Limit Adult Websites block every adult site?

Apple’s filter catches many adult websites, but it can miss some. You can add any address it misses under Never Allow. A filter works best alongside prayer and the support of people you trust.

Can I still turn the filter off?

Anyone who knows the Screen Time passcode can change these settings. That is why it helps to let someone you trust choose the code. In Agnus, you turn the filter on with a three-second hold, and it only pauses through a one-hour break once every seven days.

What happens if I delete Agnus?

iOS removes the filter that Agnus set up when you delete the app. Apple designed it that way, and Agnus respects that choice. You can also keep Apple’s own Screen Time filter turned on as a second layer.

You don’t have to fight this alone.

With Agnus, you walk with Christ one day at a time. You get a verse, a prayer and your daily check-in, and the red button guides you when an urge rises.
