What is the Agnus app?
Leaving porn behind rarely comes down to one big decision. It happens through many small choices, made day after day, with God and with other people. The Agnus app is built to support those choices.
Agnus does not replace your church, a pastor or a counselor. It puts Scripture, prayer and practical tools on the same phone where temptation often begins. Here is how the app works, one part at a time.
Your identity in Christ comes first.
Agnus starts from a simple conviction. You are more than your struggle, because you belong to Christ. The app speaks to you as someone God loves and calls to freedom. Your worth does not depend on your streak.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17, World English Bible
Every tool in the app serves that new life. The counters and stats help you see your path. They never decide who you are.
Each day begins with Scripture and a check-in.
When you open Agnus, you see your day counter and a verse for the day. The counter shows how far you have come since you started. It restarts only when you report a relapse yourself.
The daily check-in asks a few questions about your faith, your mood and what shaped your day. You can end it with a prayer and hold the Amen button to mark the moment. Over time, your personal stats show you which situations weigh on you and what helps.
Scripture becomes something you scroll.
Verses Scroll lets you move through Bible verses the way you might scroll a feed. You can save the ones that speak to you and come back to them later. You can also read whole books of the Bible, chapter by chapter, and Agnus remembers where you stopped.
Our list of Bible verses about lust and temptation gathers some of the passages you will meet along the way.
An emergency button helps when an urge arrives.
The red button in the middle of the tab bar is there for difficult moments. It starts a guided breathing exercise right away, with vibrations that set the rhythm. Afterwards, Agnus offers a verse and a prayer. The whole sequence works offline.
An urge counts as overcome only when you say so. That total stays with you, even if your streak restarts one day. Our guide on what to do when temptation hits describes this pause in more detail.
Protection makes adult websites harder to reach.
From the Protection screen, Agnus turns on Apple’s adult website filter through Screen Time. You hold the button for three seconds to switch it on. After that, you can’t turn it off with a single tap. You can take a one-hour break once every seven days, and the filter then comes back by itself.
Our guide on blocking porn on your iPhone explains how this filter works and where its limits are.
You don’t have to walk alone.
In Social, you can share what you are going through under a pseudonym. You can ask for prayer and encourage someone else. You can read the posts without an account, and you sign in with Apple or Google to write. You can report any message and block anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
An online community can’t replace the people who know you in real life. Agnus encourages you to open up to someone you trust as well. Our guide to talking with someone you trust can help you take that step.
When you fall, you can get back up.
A relapse can bring a wave of shame. Agnus responds without judgment. Your day counter restarts only after you confirm what happened. The urges you overcame before stay in your total, because that progress is real.
Grace gives you a way back to God after a hard day. Our article on your identity in Christ on difficult days explores how to return to him honestly.
Agnus has clear limits.
Agnus is a tool for spiritual and daily support. It does not make a diagnosis, and it does not replace a health professional or pastoral care. If this struggle weighs heavily on your life, please reach out to a qualified person. Agnus can walk alongside that support.
You can start today.
The Agnus app is available on the App Store for iPhone, in six languages. Agnus works with a subscription, and Apple shows you the price before you pay. Your progress lives on your phone, and you can back it up by signing in with Apple or Google.
Whatever you decide, you can take your next step with God today.
The quotation comes from the World English Bible, a public-domain translation. Read 2 Corinthians 5 in context to see the whole passage.
We answer your questions.
Is Agnus free?
Agnus works with a subscription. Apple shows you the price in your currency before you pay. The subscription renews until you cancel it in your iPhone settings.
Is Agnus available on Android?
Agnus is available on iPhone. No Android release date has been announced. You can leave your email address on the Agnus website to hear if an Android version launches.
Can other people see my progress?
Your counter, your daily check-ins and your stats stay private. In Social, other members only see the messages you choose to post under your pseudonym.
We write these articles from a Christian perspective. The Bible references let you read the passages in context.
You don’t have to fight this alone.
With Agnus, you walk with Christ one day at a time. You get a verse, a prayer and your daily check-in, and the red button guides you when an urge rises.
